Badger Mountain Vineyard is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Columbia Valley AVA of eastern Washington state. What you may or may not know, is that the vineyard was established in 1982 by Bill and Monica Walters. Apparently, they were drawn to the region’s ideal grape-growing conditions. The Walters family tends to take a hands-on approach to every aspect of the winemaking process. Thus going from tending the vines to bottling the finished wines.
In terms of visitors, they usually experience the winery’s scenic tasting room and expansive outdoor patio with views of the vineyards and Badger Mountain. Additionally, if you go to their tasting room, they offer flights and glasses of the current wine releases for sampling and purchase. Private tours and tastings are available as well, by appointment, which allows guests to learn about the vineyard’s history and winemaking philosophy. And on top of that, directly from the Walters family. Furthermore, the domain also hosts special events like summer concerts and harvest celebrations throughout the year.
When it comes to Badger Mountain Vineyard’s 80-acre vineyard, it was planted with classic Washington varietals. For example, they have Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Riesling, as well as some lesser-known grapes. Clearly, the family’s goal is to produce premium, handcrafted wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region.
Certainly, they have been doing it, as their wines are made from grapes grown on-site using sustainable farming practices. Each year, this winery produces a range of red and white wines, including their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as blends and reserve-level offerings. Obviously, they care about all of Badger Mountain’s wines, which are crafted with a focus on quality and the will of expressing the distinct characteristics of the Columbia Valley terroir.
Naturally, they also focus on their packaging processes, and thus decided to use one of our (CDA) labeling machines. Their pick was the Lea machine, which can apply up to 2 labels.
